USACE will begin releasing 3700cfs through Spillway gates on Tuesday, January 12. This will make Spillway Creek and all of Lower Mountain Fork River unsafe for fishing or any water activity. Release scheduled until at least Jan. 20.

Lower Mountain Fork Description

Lower Mountain Fork River, tailwater Trout fishery below Broken Bow Dam in the Kiamichi Mountains of Southeastern Oklahoma. Located less than 3 hours drive from Dallas/Fort Worth, Shreveport and Little Rock.

Techniques & Tips

High Stick presentation with nymphs in fast water. Swing soft hackles or throw streamers in deeper runs. Dry flies when naturals present.
