Vermilion River, Ohio Fly Fishing Reports & Conditions
My tips of the week
The Vermilion flows are good right now but with all the rains we have been having that may change soon. No reports coming in the store yet but targeting structure with baitfish and crayfish patterns will give you the best shot at picking up fish.

Techniques & Tips

Smallie action has been heating up with plenty of fish willing to take streamers and crayfish patterns. With the warm days in the forecast, don't be afraid to get your top-water game going. Casting poppers and sliders into cover will become more and more effective as the summer progresses. When targeting carp, make sure to focuses mainly on feeding carp, and cast small crawfish patterns or other carpflies into their "feeding zone". Try to be as stealhy as possibe, river pigs are notoriously spooky, especially in low flows.

7-Day Forecast

The river is on the side right now and is fishable. Watch the local flows and fish when the conditions permit. With all the rain we have been having it is tough to say how much and when the flows are going to change.
