North Platte River, Colorado Fly Fishing Reports & Conditions
My tips of the week
The rivers around the valley are in mid summer condition, and the fish are still eating very well! The North Platte is the perfect level to wade fish, but with the flows dropping, it will only keep getting better! Fishing has been very good the past week. We are seeing a lot of PMD, Caddis, Sallies, and Tricos. The fish will be feeding on all of the different options throughout the day. The smaller tributaries to the North Platte, including Michigan, North Fork, and Roaring Fork are all fishing good as well. There are many SWA's that have excellent access and are fishing decent. If you can find a river with clearer water, the fishing should be pretty good!

Nymph fishing or throwing (Dry Dropper Rigs) a Hopper or Attractor style Dry Fly followed by a variety of nymphs to match what the fish are keying in on. Also, Pmd and caddis dries will take fish through the middle of the day.

7-Day Forecast

The North Platte is at about 250 CFS. We expect the river to fish great this week! For now, the weather looks to be hot and dry so the best fishing will be early and late in the day.
