North Platte River, Colorado Fly Fishing Reports & Conditions
My tips of the week
The North Platte Flows have dropped the past week, and fishing is heating up. At this flow, it is still a little high to wade fish but can be done. The fish will be close to the banks and structure near the bank. Look for many different bugs to be hatching including Green Drakes, PMD's, Golden Stones, and Caddis.

Techniques & Tips

Fishing with a big hopper dropper rig or large brightly colored streamers tight to the banks will be the best way to find fish. Anglers can do well fishing by hanging a black stonefly 3 feet under a large hopper or throwing large bright colored streamers. Also, look for rising fish and throw a double dry rig at them equipped with an attractor dry upfront followed by a caddis or PMD.

7-Day Forecast

The next 7 days are looking to be very warm both during the day and in the evening. There is no chance for rain or snow forecasted, however, we are expecting the consistently warm temperatures to melt some of the snow up high, bumping and/or maintaining flows for the next week or so.
