The Story

John Barr created this bead head fly after a frustrating day on Nelson's Spring Creeks. That night in his room, the Barr Emerger was born and with it one of the most productive emerger patterns on the market. This bead head fly is often used as the bottom fly on his famous Hopper, Copper, Dropper three fly rig. Color, Blue Wing olive.

Sizes: 18, 20, 22.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Realistic! The arched back really looks like it's emerging! Would prefer they offer a bead head without a shine though.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hard to go wrong with this one This fly worked great for me on Rock creek in western Montana last summer. Good as a dropper or stand alone fly in gentle glides and slow runs.
