North Platte River, Colorado Fly Fishing Reports & Conditions
My tips of the week
If you are going to fish the Platte try to locate deep holes where the fish spent the winter and dead drift a large stonefly followed by a red or pink, red, or purple worm. The fish will be sluggish and hanging in the slowest water until water temps start to improve.

Techniques & Tips

The river is open and at a nice level. We expect the river flows to fluctuate with the weather. On warmer days expect the river levels to jump and on colder days expect the river to be lower and clear. Nymphing and streamer fishing will be the ticket over the next couple weeks. Look for fish in the slower and deeper pools until water temps start to rise.

7-Day Forecast

The 7 day outlook looks to be bringing a few rain showers mixed with intermittent snow. We expect the main stem of the North Platte to hold steady and clear up with the colder weather.
