Northwest Ontario Lakes Description

The granite shield lakes of North West Ontario consist of hundreds of lakes many of which are connected by rivers and streams. Deep, spring fed lakes sometimes hundreds of feet deep provide some of the best smallmouth bass and walleye fishing in the world along with northern pike and lake trout.

The lakes are strewn with plenty of cover and boulder shorelines, dead-falls, bluffs, drop-offs and ...

Techniques & Tips

Bass are deep during the warm summer days. Use a sinking line with any crayfish pattern to get down to them. You can also go sub-surface with any minnow pattern. In the evenings and mornings bass poppers and the like should work quite well.

7-Day Forecast

Warm weather. Several storm fronts coming in which is typical for this time of season.
