The Story

When beads first showed up, the bugger was one of the first streamer flies to which it was added. The great wooly bugger suddenly became easier to get down in the feeding lanes and a favorite was born. No box on a trout stream should be without a selection of these flies, all colors, all sizes. In olive/brown, black.

Sizes: 4, 6, 8, 10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Redtail Hawk Bugger I know this is not the correct name but it should be, this bug is definitely a predator. This is one of my favorite patterns and colors!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well tied All around well tied wooly bugger. Plenty of days catching lots of fish on just one fly. Great ratios of length of tail to body.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fly for Steelhead Steelhead fishing in NorthEast Ohio is fairly robust and I prefer to fish the smaller sections of the rivers we have here. The beadhead woolly bugger is my go-to solution in slightly cloudier water - where the fish need a larger presentation than a nymph. I have a fly box filled with various colored bead head woolly buggers and have found they present naturally (based on the number of hook ups) and resulted in many fish brought back to the net and released back into the stream. High quality and durable means the only reason I am removing one from my tippet is simply to replace it with another color bead head woolly bugger.
