Must Have! -
The olive green bead-head wooley bugger is a must have fly when fishing for rainbows on my home stream. Very effective.

Caught several of my first couple trout on this fly when the days got tough this would pull through. I recently caught my first brown trout on this fly and had my best two day total of 18 trout on this fly in black. Awsome fly cant preach it enough.

I purchased 4 of these in 2 sizes for myself and a buddy. On the fourth cast with mine, I hooked into a nice 14 inch Brown Trout. My first trout ever! My friend was using his a little later and hooked into a nice rainbow. Cannot argue with those results.

This is a good fly that has come through for me in the early season. I recommend it.
truly best all-round fly -
i am a saltwater fly fisherman, so when i had to go freshwater, i purchased 5 of this flies on a size 6 olive, but i didn't wanted to write a review until i had finally tested it to the max, this is one of the best all round flies on the market, got out to a ranch lake, caught 14 bass in one hour (all between 1-4pounds!) then on a trip to argentina i caught one 26 and one 27 1/2 inchers. best freshwater fly out there, very pleased, thank you orvis

I find the brass cone head woolly bugger to be a great choice on mid-depth waters; it gets down quickly but not as deep as a tungsten head fly. Great producer on lakes, ponds and streams, especially for bass.
Cone heads a good bet for Bass -

I use the cone head wooly bugger for Texas Bass. They work good in olive, black, and brown colors in size 4-8. Been on the water a few times with conventional Bass fishermen and caught more fish using these.

Was out over the weekend and caught six smallmouth in about an hour and half and missed 3 others.I had one that I saw at about 24 " break my 6 lb. tippet and got away with one of the four I order. I ordered different sizes and colors and they all catch fish! Love those Wolly Bugger!!!!
Hopeless: Try this! -

Was striking out and tied one of these on. Within a half hour caught a large brook trout and a good sized salmon. Good in fast water especially, but try it when you can't tell what they are feeding on.
