Only minutes from the airport and featuring our own private boat launch located on the famed Inner Lagoon, CIL offers five private two-suite oceanside bungalows on our 20-acre property. As the only lodge on the island's north shore, Christmas Island Lodge offers unparalleled privacy, and our own private beach merely steps away from our open-air lounge. Colorful thatch-roofed bungalows are provisioned with air conditioning units, fans, tile floors, newly remodeled bathrooms, refrigerators stocked with bottled water, sodas, and beer, comfortable queen-size beds, showers, brand-new fixtures, and amenities.

Christmas Island Lodge offers five two-suite oceanside bungalows, which accommodate up to 12 guests each week. Each private suite is equipped with an A/C unit, fan, refrigerator stocked with bottled water, sodas and beer, desk, chair, gear table, armoire, bedside table, newly tiled floor and bathroom, new sink, shower, toilet, and amenities. Only steps from the calming sound of the rolling waves, Christmas Island Lodge also offers a maneaba lounge area where cocktail hour is held, meals are served, and guests unite to share stories of their daily angling accomplishments. Our weekly Monday-night luau includes a pig roast and traditional Kiribati entertainment as well as few surprises along the way. Each bungalow is named after one of the many target species that inhabit the surrounding waters including the Triggerfish, Milkfish, Bonefish and Bluefin bungalows in addition to the Geet Suite. Christmas Island Lodge truly serves as a cozy haven for adventurous anglers and provides the perfect amount of comfort to enhance your weeklong angling adventure.

Traveling to Christmas Island is remarkably easy. From Honolulu (HNL) it is a quick three-hour flight on the weekly Fiji Airways Tuesday departure to Cassidy International Airport (CXI), which arrives on Wednesday due to crossing the International Dateline. Upon arrival, Christmas Island Lodge guests are met at the terminal and transported immediately to the lodge. Because fishing licenses are pre-purchased for CIL guests, there is no need to wait in the lengthy line at the airport to obtain fishing licenses. The CIL Service Team will be waiting with welcome drinks and cold face towels at the lodge property where guests will then be showed to their bungalows. Once settled in, the International Host will convene an orientation meeting in the oceanside open-air lounge. Upon completion of the orientation meeting, CIL fishing guides will help guests prepare their equipment for the next day. Each of the six fishing days will begin early with coffee at 5:30 AM, breakfast at 6:00 AM and departure at 6:30 AM. Lunch will be served afield, and guests will return to the lodge after a full day of fishing at approximately 5:00 PM. Appetizers are served shortly after with dinner at 6:30 PM. All fishing is walk-and-wade with transport by outrigger boat or vehicle. Departure day begins with an early wake up, breakfast and coffee at 5:00 AM and departure for the airport at 5:30 AM.

Christmas Island, known as Kiritimati by the local i-Kiribati people, is a saltwater angler's dream. The local hard sand coral flats teem with dozens of target species including five species of trevally, three species of triggerfish, a prodigious bonefish population, milkfish, barracuda, sharks, reef fish, and bluewater species including sailfish, tuna, skipjacks, and many others. Famed destinations on Christmas Island include the Inner Lagoon which spans 150 square miles, Huff Dam with its visually stunning coral rim and the Korean Wreck offering vast inner reef angling opportunities. The colors of Kiritimati's marine ecosystem range from turquoise to aquamarine to topaz and every green-blue hue imaginable. Bird life is extremely populous including large numbers of frigate birds, terns, and boobies, among others. What truly sets Christmas Island apart from other international saltwater destinations is its remarkable multi-species action; it is common to land a dozen or more species over a weeklong visit. Though famed for its seemingly infinite bonefish numbers, there is far more to the atoll than just the bonefishery to which experienced Christmas Island anglers can attest.
