    Best smallie fly - 3/22/2015

I was fishing a size 8 olive bugger on a 90° when nothing was hitting. I tied it on and a big smallie slammed it.

    Go-to-fly - 6/18/2014
    By: from on line

Orvis calls this a go-to-fly in fast or deep water. I agree. I fish the streams and rivers of Western MA & CT and I'm really not that good a fly fisherman; but, I have found a few things that work well for me and among those is this TH woolly bugger. In fact, I'd wager that 70% of the trout I've hooked over the past 2 or 3 years have been taken on this fly. The olive green in size 8 seems to work the best for me. Great Product!

Very productive in all colors on the urban stocked trout streams that I fish in Northern, Virginia. Local Orvis stores often stock interesting color, flash and head variations that also work very well. Great fly.

This pattern took 19 rainbows in two hours from waters stocked just three days prior! Spinner and bait fisherman quickly lost confidence. I highly recommend.
