Quality and safety are very important to Orvis. Orvis stands by every product we sell. We work closely with our suppliers to deliver premium quality, dependable, and durable products. Occasionally, a problem will arise that was not discovered during product testing. Because we want to make sure that every product owned by our customers is 100% right, we will issue a complete recall in these situations. Recall Notice: March 25, 2008 Lighthouse Cocktail Shaker & Thirst Extinguisher Martini Shaker It has come to our attention that some of the cocktail shakers may have contained levels of lead and/or cadmium in the solder within the inner lining of the shaker that exceed federal guidelines. Since lead and cadmium may be hazardous to health, you should discontinue usage of the shaker. The defects in the cocktail shaker were detected in the manufacturer’s quality testing, and working with the FDA’s Department of Health and Human Services, the manufacturer, Authentic Models, has asked us to recall these cocktail shakers. Recall Notice: March 14, 2008 Helios 908-4 Limited Edition Only, Helios 909-4, 910-4 Fly Rods We closely monitor rods that are returned to us for breakage, and even though just a few rods in each of these three models have been returned to us, our rod designers noticed they all broke in the same place in the tip-mid section, so they designed a new section that will be even stronger without changing the weight or the casting characteristics of the rod a bit. Recall Notice: July 25, 2007 Animal Sleepover Bags with Horse, Item #73EG-6100 & Animal Sleepover Bags with Unicorn, Item #73EG-6300 In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, The Orvis Company is recalling the stuffed plush horse/pillows attached to the horse sleeping bag and the fairy doll attached to unicorn sleeping bag. The plastic button eyes on the stuffed horse and the pompom nose on the fairy doll can easily detach, posing a small parts choking hazard to young children. We have received no reports of injuries. |
