Apply Zip Juice to the included cleaning pad and, folding the pad in half, run the line through the pad while applying pressure. Let the line air dry; exceptionally dirty lines may require more than one application. The semi-abrasive surface of the pad, teamed with the special cleaning and lubricating formulation of the Zip Juice, efficiently removes dirt and prepares the line for your next fishing expedition.

Clean those lines! -

My floating bass line had become my sinking bass line due to the types of rivers and lakes here. The line cleaner and pads took care of that easily and quickly. Line now floats like it was made to. Added some line slick and my casts got easier and farther too. The pouch the cleaner and wipes came in makes a great leader wallet.
Really Works -
Easy to apply and line really seems to shoot easier and farther.

I would highly recommend this product. The solution cleaned my line in far less time than other cleaners. Wouldn't expect anything less from Orvis.
what instructions -
zip juice- great- now how is it supposed to be used?? would it be so hard to write on the bottle "rinse with water after wiping line or let juice dry on line after cleaning???? which is it.

The Zip juice and the sponge pads that come in the kit do a great job of getting the dirt and grim off of your line. However, after I clean my line with the Zip juice, I coat my line with a floatant. I do this 2X per year and my lines seem to last forever and cast well. I suspect that keeping your lines clean also leads to a decrease in wear on my rod guides.

I'm not religious about cleaning my line but doing it more often than none does help with line speed. It's inevitable that the line will end up in some silt, mud, grass etc and once that dries on the line and guides it does hinder performance. This cleaner is easy enough to use. The packaging (Orvis is re-using the same mesh zipper wallet that's sold with their shooting head system) is ok by me. Sure it doesn't hold the bottle well but that doesn't matter. I put the cleaning pads and bottle into a separate plastic bag and have been using the mesh wallet to carry leaders (in Orvis packages). The wallet snugly holds 10-12 leader packs. I put the leader packs in upside down so when I open the wallet I can see the size and length of the leaders. The dividers help somewhat with grouping leaders in to sizes. I give the cleaner and pads 3 stars. I can't scientifically prove that it's putting a slick coating on the line. It gets 1 extra star for the mesh wallet. Kudos to Orvis for making more out of what could have been a plastic bottle and 2 pads. Just as in fly-fishing, presentation can be everything.
I was very disappointed in the total package. i am confused as to the purpose of the zippered purse with four separate compartments, but not suitable to hold the bottle and a space waste for just holding the pads.
