Dean has been with Orvis since 2000, starting at our Manhattan store then our Long Island location, and the last year and half at our Flagship store in Manchester, Vermont. His background is quite diverse, he is a professionally trained Chef and worked in the industry for over 15 years - that was until he started fly fishing in the early 90's. He was so taken with the sport he decided to combine two of his passions together. He has worked at two Orvis Endorsed Lodges as a Chef and has been able to work and flyfish in many favorite destination locations from Quebec to Palena, Chile. He brings a wealth of fishing knowledge to the table and has helped outfit many a fly-fishermen on their trips of a life time. From fly tying to grouse hunting, he can help you and put you at ease for your next adventure. Dean is looking forward to fishing the Farmington River and making the night trips to the Rhode Island beaches for his favorite…..stripers by the moon light.
Avon, CT Fly Fishing Manager: Andy Haberman
Andy first took fly rod in hand at the age of six in the Rangeley Lakes Region of Maine and later in his home waters in Connecticut. He has fished from Maine to the Bahamas, spending equal time pursuing salt water gamefish and trout. Andy, a member of Trout Unlimited and many local fly fishing organizations, is focused on environmental issues and habitat restoration. His favorite waters are the flats of Cape Cod and Rhode Island as well as the Farmington River in Connecticut.
