Manager Profiles
Carmel, Indiana Store Manager: Ben Harris
Ben Harris brings over 14 years of retail experience to our store in Carmel, IN. Ben grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee, exploring the Great Smoky Mountains by kayaking down rivers, hiking rugged trails, swimming in fresh waterfalls, and spending many hours on the beautiful Tennessee lakes fishing, boating, wake boarding, and skiing. His adventures away from home have led him deep sea fishing in Costa Rica, scuba diving in Bonaire, and snorkeling in the gorgeous waters of Hawaii and Jamaica. Ben now finds joy in all that Indiana has to offer and feels privileged to be a member of the Orvis team.
Scott Gobel: Carmel, Indiana Store Fishing Manager Carmel, Indiana Fishing Manager: Scott Gobel
Scott comes to Orvis bringing over 10 years of experience in the fly fishing industry.  If you have been involved with fly fishing in the Indianapolis area chances are you’ve crossed paths.  It could have been at one of the casting lessons he has instructed,  lecturing at shows or local clubs, or possibly even been on a guided trip for Smallmouth Bass with him sometime in the past 5 or 6 years.  He has traveled the globe fishing for any species that swims in fresh or salt.  He can also be found behind the vise teaching tiers of all skill levels, and creating new patterns for local guiding and a few of which will be commercially tied this year.  Stop in for a chat, he’s always got a few good fish tales to share!
