Arlington, Texas Store Manager: Jef Fair Jef grew up fly fishing the spring-fed rivers and streams of the central Texas Hill Country, targeting both largemouth and Guadalupe bass. Although warmwater species are among his favorite, he also enjoys stalking the saltwater flats of the Texas Coast and high mountain trout streams. John is also an avid fly tier and enjoys spending time at the tying bench creating all types of flies from simple streamers and top-waters for local streams to intricate, classic Atlantic salmon flies.
Dallas Assistant Manager: Steve Wetzel Steve comes to the Dallas store as an accomplished flyfisher on western trout streams from the Eastern Sierras to Lee's Ferry. As a former manager with the Walt Disney Studios in Los Angeles he is now dedicating himself to learning the art of salt water fishing and is hooked on Redfish and the Texas Gulf coast as well as urban bass fishing with a fly rod. Steve was a long time Orvis customer before joining the Dallas team in 2007.
Dallas Fly Fishing Manager: Sean Polk Sean comes to Orvis with a life long passion of pursuing fish. Whether it's chasing redfish in the shallow flats of south Texas, trout in Arkansas, or bass in the clear rivers of Texas, he is constantly on the water fly fishing.
Sean started fly fishing at a young age, spending his summers fishing stock tanks and the Gulf of Mexico with his grandfathers. His dad introduced him to fly fishing and he has never looked back. Whether it is tying new patterns at the bench, teaching others to cast, or exploring new waters Sean is always looking at ways to expand his knowledge of the sport.
Along with fly fishing, Sean is also an avid water-fowler who enjoys the sight of mallards gliding into a set of 'dekes almost as much as a tailing red.
