Portland , Oregon Store Manager: Heidi Adcock I have spent the majority of my life living
in Portland and have always had a love of
the outdoors. I love to cross-country and
downhill ski, hike, camp and fish as much as
possible. As a long-time fan of Orvis, I was
honored to take a leading role in the opening
of the Portland store. I look forward to
introducing Portlanders toOrvis’s distinctive country lifestyle,
and to providing world-class service. I encourage everyone
to stop by the store to visit with me and my associates,
and discover the sporting traditions that Orvis has proudly
delivered for over 150 years. When I’m away from the store,
I can be found with my husband, Jim, and our boxer, Sonny,
in Oregon’s great outdoors.

I think that I have always been a fishing addict, as a toddler my parents had to lock the doors of the house so I didn’t wander down to the river on my own. I caught my first Steelhead on my own when I was eight and I was immediately hooked for life. While I would fish for just about any fish, my true passion is swinging flies with a Spey rod for Steelhead. As I got older I turned my fishing addiction into a career as a full time guide allowing me to chase fish with a fly all over the west coast. From guiding Trout and Salmon in Alaska, to getting Steelhead for my clients on both the Oregon Coast and Deschutes, to stripping streamers for Stripers on the Sacramento Delta, I was constantly on the hunt for fish.
I am now very happy to be the Fishing Manager of the Portland store, a place where I can share my passion for fishing with others. Having spent many years as a full time fishing guide gives an in depth knowledge of the local fisheries and a unique perspective on how to fish them that I love to share with others. From seminars and workshops to beginner casting lessons and advanced classes I am looking forward to sharing fascination of all things fly fishing with the local community.
