Richmond Virginia Fly Fishing Manager: John Hansen
John grew up in Vail, Colorado, and at an early age found joy and fascination in fly-fishing for trout in local streams. He developed his passion for guiding and instruction as a drift boat captain in the Eagle and Colorado Rivers in the Vail Valley, and later in the world-renowned Kenai River in Alaska seeking trophy trout, char, and all five species of salmon. Fly-fishing should be an approachable pastime for all ages and abilities, and John strives to make the sport fun and accessible for anyone interested. John now enjoys fishing in Virginia for smallmouth and largemouth bass, muskellunge and trout.
