The Orvis Company donates $5,000 to the Friends of the Smokies
The $5000.00 donation will help fund 8.5 miles of brook trout restoration on Lynn Camp Prong in the Smokies.
Sevierville Retail Store Manager: Kris Maurer
Originally from the Ozarks, Kris taught himself to fly fish in the spring creeks and tailwaters of Missouri and Arkansas. After graduating from the University of Missouri with a B.S. in Marketing he worked as a regional sales representative for a hardware manufacturer. However his desire to fly fish, led him to Tennessee in September of 2005, where he became the Fishing Manager and Head Fly Fishing Instructor of Orvis Sevierville and then later, Store Manager in January of 2012. Kris stated, “I feel fortunate to have found a home with Orvis, as I believe it is an extremely unique company and I really enjoy being able to offer great customer service to everyone that walks in the door”. “Also, don’t be afraid to share your best fish stories and pictures, because I love a great fish story”! When not at work, Kris enjoys exploring the rivers and streams of East Tennessee, plus trying to find the best place to get wings and BBQ!
