The Story

Designed to take on the cold, snowy winters of Vermont, our redesigned men's Green Mountain Parka 3.0 will keep you warm and dry in rain, snow, and cold. 650 fill power down, purchased from a Responsible Down Standard supplier, offers lots of warmth without weighing you down. Wind- and water-resistant, the parka zips up and snaps shut to seal out the elements while the fixed hood with soft faux-sherpa lining provides extra protection for your head. Rib-knit storm cuffs and collar block drafts. Finished with two handwarmer pockets, two snap-shut pockets, and one interior pocket.

Shell: Polyester/cotton. Lining: Downproof recycled polyester. Hood Fill: Recycled polyester fill. Washable. Imported.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket Finally got the right size on this jacket,, it was a purchase for my wife.. the ladies version in XL did not fit so tried the men's XL and it fit her perfectly. Very happy with purchase.. Well made winter parka for winter comfort. Not recommended for the Himalaya's but a nice winter jacket for typical New England Winters. Very happy with this purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made and very functional Fit is good, and this parka seems very well made. I live in upstate NY, on the eastern side of the Tug Hill Plateau. We get lots of snow and temps can dip well below zero on the coldest winter nights. I needed a replacement parka for my daily walks with our dog, every morning and evening we walk a short trail through the woods for about 20-30 minutes, plus longer outings during the day. I’m 6’1” tall, about 180 lbs, athletic build, and wear a shirt size 16 & ½ x 34-35” slightly fitted. I purchased this parka in LARGE, color Olive, and have worn it about 6 times so far this February. What I like: very well constructed, outer shell seems durable, generous hood, pockets are convenient and functional, cuts the wind very well, and warm enough for all but the coldest days. Areas for improvement: The fit is good, but I could use an extra inch of sleeve length, hand-warmer pockets could be just a little deeper, and I’d prefer a more durable zippered inside pocket instead of the Velcro closure pocket. It’s not as warm as the 650-down filled parka I am replacing, so I think I’ll have to add some extra layering underneath when the temp falls below 10 deg F. All-in-all, I’m please with this Parka and expect to get many years of service from it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An outstanding parka! This parka was ordered so that I could stay warm when taking walks in cold Michigan winters. It's both stylish and functional, a combination that can be difficult to find. The features are as advertised and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Congratulations to Orvis for another great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Parka If you’re looking for something to keep you warm and dry you couldn’t do better than the Green Mountain Parka. It is comfortable as well as well insulated and good looking too. When I wear this one out I’ll certainly get another.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plenty Warm Been looking for a while to replace a competitor's jacket that was getting threadbare. This one is plenty warm. I marked "overall fit" as just right, but I ordered a size smaller than the sizing chart recommended. This was based on prior experience with other Orvis coats. I'm a size 42--sizing chart says I should wear a large in this parka. I ordered a medium and it fits perfect.
