The Story

Whether it's on the trail or train, our diamond-quilted RT7 Jacket is a weather-resistant, practical layer that's the perfect complement to our best-selling RT7 Vest. Refusing to sacrifice style for comfort, we built a jacket that offers both: We've insulated it with mid-weight polyester fill and reinforced it for durability with shoulder and elbow patches, without surrendering its streamlined style. Vented gussets under the arms allow for a wide range of movement and breathability; suede-lined cuffs and collar add warmth and comfort. Brass two-way zipper and snap front with antiqued nickel hardware. Suede piping on the hand pockets, adjustable snap vents for improved movement, and reinforced self-patches at the shoulders and elbows. Interior chest pocket.

Polyester shell, fill, and faux-suede. Nylon lining and binding. Washable. Imported.

Sizes: M(38-40), L(42-44), XL(46-48), XXL(50-52).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Design The design and feel of this coat is exceptional. The fit was on the tighter side, so I moved up one size, and it was too big. I ended not getting the coat, but I was impressed with the look and feel for sure - the images online did not disappoint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome and stylish jacket I love this jacket. I want a second one so I can wear one cleanly to go to dinner and one to hunt.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Enhance Zippers Love the quilted jacket but, like many Orvis products I’ve purchased, the zippers do not seem to be the quality of the rest of the product. That is fixable but keeps me from give the jacket 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Quality, Exactly what I was looking for! This jacket is exceptional. From the stitching, materials, cut, zippers, even down to the buttons. The material repels water but breathes easy. It is a warm jacket but transitions well where I'm not having to take it off the second I go inside. Very Pleased

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect mild winter jacket The RT7 jacket is comfortable with a hat and heavy shirt or light sweater in temperatures down to the high 20s. A thicker sweater gets you down to 20 or so. Over a light shirt, it’s comfortable in a mild chill, upwards of 60 degrees. I'd reach for something else for extended exposure to heavy rain, wet snow, bitter cold, rough terrain, tough chores (actual work), or more actively sporting pursuits. I also have the RT7 vest, which I use for a brisker pace in lighter chills. But this jacket gets me through most of the day to day winter. The main selling point for me is that it slips on and off easily, even over a sweater. I prefer it to more technical jackets that wear tight on the arms, which limit layering and require peeling on and off. Great length and weight for driving and riding transport. Dual zip is a nice touch for sitting and airing out the bottom. Snaps seal out the wind or hold the jacket closed more loosely than the zipper. Pockets hold gloves and phone securely and accessibly. I prefer the traditional style to "athleisure" for most everyday settings like commuting, going out on the town, or just walking the dogs. I think quilting is a bit overdone, but classic enough to endure. I can live with the bourgeoisie overtones in my early 50s. Love this jacket. Highly recommended for a 20–60 degree weather band, which gets you through most of the winter and shoulder seasons here in central Maryland.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking and comfortable! My husband requested this jacket for Christmas present. He loves it so much that I have since ordered one for my adult son. Very good-looking and warm.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice jacket, bad zipper... I wanted to like this jacket. But the stupid 2 way zipper jammed the third time I wore it, rendering it useless. Also, the snaps on the cuffs are an odd feature that I have no use for.
