The Story

One of the great hatches you can ever experience. If someone tells you the green drakes are hatching, drop everything and run to the river. Big, visible mayflies attract big, hungry trout. The potential is always for the best day of fly fishing you'll ever have. Make sure you have these drake flies in your fly box. In natural.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Near perfect proportion Have found myself amidst the Green Drake hatch on Penns Creek many times and have tried several differently tied versions. This tie is the most traditional and most effective among those that I have fished....however, would recommend that the tail be a bit more sparse and a tad longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A step above Orvis flies are a little bit more expensive than the other guys. Hooks are sharper, overall quality and attention to detail are better. You get what you pay for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must-Have for Yellowstone National Park If you are going to Yellowstone National Park, make sure you have this fly in your arsenal. The Yellowstone cutthroats found this fly to their liking in the Yellowstone River below LeHardy's Rapids (August 2019). Those trout would not bite any of my other fly patterns - dry flies, nymphs, and hoppers (which is a type of dry fly). But, the Green Drakes seemed to entice them. Why? I am not certain why; I just know the Green Drake flies did get them to bite when nothing else would. What about Grand Teton National Park? While I did not fish that park, I would recommend having a few Green Drakes just to be on the safe side. I plan to try the Green Drake on the Lower Saluda River, South Holston River, and Watauga River in the near future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nice flies that arrived safely and timely. Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to use these new flies yet, but I look very forward to it. The particular flies purchased were regional specific. Great selection in type and size. The flies arrived protected and in good shape.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from TBD The flies look great. Can't wait to try them out on the Allagash this June. I'll have better info for you guys after that than now. Surprised to see they were tied in Kenya. I hope these things are ethically sourced
