The Story

Choose Orvis-endorsed lodging at Flint Oak Ranch for your wingshooting trip to Kansas. Established in 1978, Flint Oak Ranch has been recognized as “America's Premier Hunting Resort” and was named an Orvis Endorsed Wingshooting Lodge of the Year Finalist in 2022, and was the recipient of the coveted Wingshooting Lodge of the Year in 2023. Hosting valuable Members who bring friendly guests has allowed Flint Oak to establish “the best of the best.” The relationship between our staff and our Members is what feeds our unique culture, and ultimately, the reason we see our Members come back every year.

Flint Oak Ranch is the only Orvis-Endorsed Wingshooting Lodge in Kansas, making it an excellent destination for the upland enthusiast. With over 6,000 acres, you won't hunt the same piece of property more than once during your stay. Our field hunts are guided by one of our more than 15 guides, following behind four of the 100-plus dogs of Flint Oak. Upon the hunt's conclusion, our guides will return you to the lodge and take your harvested game to be processed and packed out on ice, ready for your departure at no additional expense.

Flint Oak Ranch also offers six different “Europeans,” or driven pheasant shoots. Whether you have a group of 6 or a group of 78, we can handle it. Strategically built in areas across the ranch with various scenery, our Europeans are a great way to relax and enjoy the camaraderie of Flint Oak Ranch.

Located in the Flint Hills of Kansas, the rich native grass and timber create ideal habitat for upland birds. Our guides go through extensive training to be able to apply their knowledge and experience in the field with hunters. At the end of the day, when it is time to enjoy a cold beverage in The Last Shot and a fine dining experience, our friendly waitstaff will take care of you. Flint Oak Ranch's culture of high standards shows throughout our entire organization, and we want you to recognize the accommodations are just as good as the hunting.

Orvis is pleased to offer our travel customers access to two valuable services: Global Rescue travel membership and IMG Signature Travel Insurance℠.
