The Story

What's both unique and compelling about the 2015 Orvis Wingshooting Lodge of the Year is that it can be so many things to so many different sportsmen. To the upland gunner, large fields of sorghum, millet, and switch grass bring memories of great gun dogs, flushing pheasants, bobwhite covey rises, and days in the field with friends. For the big game hunter, it's 6,000 acres that offer some of the best whitetail hunting in the country and over 40 species of exotic game. For the clay shooter, it's the great sporting clays and pyramid 5-stand courses that will test the best of shooters. And for the avid angler, their trophy bass lakes present year round opportunities for tight lines on largemouth and hybrid stripers.

What appeals to all visitors at Greystone are its top-of-the-line accommodations and gourmet meals. There are five elegantly decorated suites capable of hosting more than 30 guests, a dining room complete with a full-time executive chef, spacious conference facilities, a swimming pool with hot tub, and just outside the castle walls, a scenic lookout affords a breathtaking vista of the entire estate.

The ownership and staff have been dedicated to creating one of the finest sporting experiences found anywhere in the world. Long-term habitat improvement and wildlife management has made Greystone an extraordinary hunting venue. This coupled with the unique castle facility and outstanding customer service makes Greystone Castle a destination without equal

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome escape 1.5 hours from Dallas Had an excellent time here on a Solo turkey hunt.. Hunter was my guide and he and I worked extremely hard, we saw them and heard them but could not get a shot this time. He provided some excellent Exotic tours and I was able to shoot skeet and rifle and pistol range seamlessly. The Executive chef vickie was very nice and accommodating. I have not had better quail than the one she specializes in and all meals were memorable! Rooms were extremely clean, comfortable and stocked with all necessary comforts. The property is magical and I look forward to returning with my wife. First class! We’ll be back!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional hunt and overall experience! My wife and I visited Greystone Castle for 2 nights, and were thrilled to discover this hidden gem! It was only an hour and half drive but it felt like we were immersed in a remote peaceful world far away from our home in Dallas! Hunter (appropriately named) was my guide for my Turkey hunts and I was super impressed with his knowledge and passion for all things hunting! Even though I was unable to get on a bird, my experience was first-class, and couldn’t have asked for a better guide! My wife enjoyed the fitness center and pool while I was afield, and we both loved the delicious Texas comfort food and accommodating staff (Amber, Vicky, Judy, Patrick and Sierra). The team here operates like one big family, and it is apparent that they love what they do! First class! We’ll be back!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Experience My wife and I had an awesome turkey hunting experience with a fishing trip and safari tour mixed in the weekend. I hunted and fished while she relaxed. We enjoyed the evenings together....it was perfect. Food/Beverage is outstanding and the views are breathtaking. Greystone is everything they advertise and more. A boutique feel with service that is detail oriented and adapted to your preference. Special thanks to Vickie, the Executive Chef and Drew my guide. They treated us like family from start to finish. Greystone is a place that we will that we will visit again very soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Lodge! We hunted Greystone Castle Feb 22-24, 2021. It is an outstanding facility in every aspect. Great hunts, guides and dog teams and they have the best chef of any of the other lodges that we have visited thus far. The staff is most accommodating, friendly and helpful. This is a first-rate facility all around!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EVERYTHING... First Class! From the time you roll through their gates to many days/weeks after your experience, you'll know why this place is so special. The staff is always outgoing and accommodating. Their food is top notch. The accommodations are unmatched. And finally, the hunting is amazing. The only problem with Greystone is that it's addicting! This is my 3rd time being there since September. I can promise you... it won't be the last. In fact, we are already trying to plan our next trip out there. Just amazing and can't say enough about this special place.
