Conway Bowman

Orvis Fly-Fishing Ambassador

Conway considers himself “the luckiest guy on the planet.” He has spent the better part of the past 20 years traveling the world chasing almost every species of fish that can be caught on a fly.

It all started with sight casting a fly to Mako sharks off his home waters of San Diego. Later, Conway balanced guiding and traveling with hosting several award-winning fly-fishing TV series including Fly Fishing the World, 50 Places to Fly Fish before You Die, and The Ford Outfitters.

Conway is incredibly grateful for the support of his awesome and talented wife, Michelle, a marine biologist, surfer, angler, and the mother of their two boys Max (age 8) and Jackson (age 3).

Homebase: Encinitas, California

“From catching the Thi Masher deep in the jungles of Thailand and swinging for wild steelhead in British Columbia to sight fishing for Giant Trevallies on the Kiribati atoll, I consider each fly-fishing opportunity, whether close to home or far away, a privilege.”
