Dave Brown & Lisa Filigenzi are the owners of Dave Brown Outfitters LLC which is based out of their home in Patagonia, AZ. Dave has been outfitting Fly-Fishing Trips since 1992, then Bird Hunting Trips since 1998. In and out of season Dave spends a great deal of time guiding, hunting, dog training, and scouting throughout the southeast corner of the state.

D.B.O. caters to wingshooting Aficionados that are seeking the ultimate Desert Quail Hunting Experience. Our Arizona Quail Hunts offer our Clients the opportunity to get out of the cold and hunt "wild" Gambels, Mearns and Scaled Quail.

Group sizes vary from of 2-10 hunters with a 2 clients to1 guide ratio. Our goal is to provide our Clients a safe, fun and rewarding hunt while enjoying the beautiful Desert Scenery. There is nothing easy about hunting in the Arizona Desert, the better shape clients are the more successful they will be. Dave and his Guides take great pride in the dogs that they own. Our clients get to hunt over English Pointers, English Setters, Brittany's, G.S.P.'s and Labrador Retrievers.

As an endorsed wingshooting outfitter we can also ensure you that those that work for us are local, experienced & licensed Arizona Hunting Guides that conduct your hunt in a courteous and ethical manner. All guides own appropriate vehicles to safely and comfortably transport clients to and from the field. Arizona Quail and Dove Hunts: Mid November - February

Season Dates vary depending on Species of Quail Check our Website for exact on Seasons.
Gambels and Scaled Quail: Oct - first Sunday in February
Mearns Quail: 1st Friday in December - 1st Sunday in February
Late Season Mourning Doves: Late November - Early January

Quail hatches depend on seasonal rains. Populations of specific Quail species may vary from year to year, however pursuing an Arizona Grand Slam is realistic. Although we do not have a set minimum amount of days for our hunts, we do suggest hunting for three days.

What Is Provided To Customer

Arizona Day Hunts - Patagonia AZ: Guides, dogs, deli-style lunch, non-alcoholic beverages, transportation to and from the field, local knowledge, Lodging Arrangements & Gun Rentals.

El Coronado Ranch & Lodge Hunts: All inclusive and Exclusive hunts on 50,000 acres of Private Land. Lodging (single Private Rooms) Meals, Liquor, Guides, Dogs and Bird Processing is included.

Region/Terrain Hunted

Patagonia AZ Day Hunts: Depending on the species of Quail that is hunted, the terrain varies from grassland flats to washes and rugged canyons. Elevation varies from 3000-6500'. Hunters need to be in good physical shape.

Typical Weather By Season

Arizona: Mornings temperatures are usually around 32, warming up to 65 Degrees. Layered clothing is a must-have.



Sample of Typical Trip

Arizona: 1-3 day hunts are the normal booking. The quail season starts in November and we run into February. Clients are charged per day.

Saskatchewan: September 15 - October 31st. This is a 4-night, 3-day hunt, however extra days can be added on. Contact us for details.


Species You Hunt by Season

Arizona: Mearns, Gambels, and scaled quail are all hunted with pointing dogs. We use labs to flush and retrieve the birds.

Saskatchewan: Hungarian partridge and sharptail grouse are hunted with pointing dogs. Labradors are used for waterfowl hunting.


What Should Customers Bring?

Clients need to bring guns, ammo, licenses, clothing, camera, lightweight boots, and your dogs are welcome.
