The Story

This attractor dry fly has everything - high-floating elk wing, a parachute post so you can see it, peacock herl, and rubber legs. It's a high-floater that you can see and the trout will grab. The PMX is best fished in fast riffles and an occasional twitch will sometimes turn on the fish.

Sizes 8, 10, 12, 14, 16.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good attractor fly Good basic attractor/caddis fly. Use these a lot in Patagonia.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have This is a must have fly for anyone who fishes large rivers with lots of pocket water. It floats extremely well and provides a great platform for attaching a small dropper rig. It is a great fly for fishing when no other fly seems to work or when there is no distinguishable hatch occurring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fly. Very Bouyant This fly is with me on every trout outing. It is a goto fly for me and floats like a cork with a small amount of floatant. I find myself using this as the top fly when I go dry/dropper more times that not. I never would have noticed fly this if it were not in their "20 trout flies for $10" deal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective All Around Attractor One of my favorite attractor patterns for the summer in CO. Good for still water as well as creeks or rivers. Especially like using it at dusk on high alpine ponds to lure larger fish out. Just a little twitch action is all it takes. I prefer the pattern with rubber legs that have segmented color patterns. Vary the body color from yellow to orange or others. Must have pattern.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have for high off color water Working this attractor pattern in high/off color water is essential to bring up those fish that are not rising to any specific hatch. Just twitch the rod tip for some exicitng action on the surface. Just make sure that you grease the leader/tippet section and apply dry fly floatant to keep it looking as a natural skittering above the surface.
