Pursell Farms is centrally located between many of the major Alabama cites and two hours from Atlanta, Georgia. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Class Sam was a great instructor and Dan completed the team. They were patient and helpful every step of the way. Most importantly they made us want to be a part of the sport even as novices. Encouraging, detail oriented, and full of great advice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Two Day Class Worth Both Your Time & Money The class provides the novice with a clear understanding of those components needed to begin this new hobby of fly fishing. And the experience angler with a review of the "Basics" and a reminder of all that is still to be learned. Our class consisted of five students and two motivated and knowledgeable teachers. Chris Edlin was the primary teacher with his capable assistant Davis Bryant. Their was a good balance between classroom and casting techniques. Each morning the students were able to choose from a menu what they wanted for lunch. At 11:30 the class and teachers drove 5 minutes to the Purcell Farms Lodge for a exquisite lunch. When you combine five motivated students with two dedicated teachers it makes for a winning combination. Now lets go fishing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First time, Succinct and Fun Instruction My 2-day experience was thorough, easy to follow with results during our on-water fishing. Chris gives clear and concise queues for improved casting. The course is detailed, but not overwhelming. A valuable experience for anyone looking to try or improve their fly fishing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Time Knowledge timely & informative. Taught me how to correct bad habits and create new ways to present the fly. Chris Edlin took great effort teaching me to catch Tarpin. He instructed me on how to set up the rod and reel to fit my needs. Now I don't feel intimidated by the fish! Chris went to the next level. To apply the technique that he had taught I had the privilege to fish for Bass in one of the many fishing holes. This was money well spent as the class has given me confidence that I did not have before. Chris taught me to go out, fish and do it the right way!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A class for all! This class was fun and educational. Chris was THE best instructor and Tripp easily stepped in when needed. I'm a first timer and Chris would tell me why something was not working so I could adjust. He also showed us a couple of easier ways to tie knots that we found better! (Ask him!). I throughly enjoyed my introduction into fly fishing and think this class can help all levels of students.
