The Story

A color variation on the popular Parachute Adams. An all around attractor dry fly that can be used to imitate a number of mayfly duns. If a regular Parachute Adams isn't getting it done, try this variation and you may see a renewed interest by the fish.

Sizes 12, 14, 16, 18.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Floats high and bright This fly floats high and is easy to spot for both the angler and more importantly the fish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fly by any other name would look as sweet... Call it whatever you want, this is essentially what's known to most as the "Purple Haze", but admittedly is indeed for all intents an Adams parachute made with a purple body. I discovered the Purple Haze in Hamilton, MT, a decade ago, and quickly discovered Bitteroot browns and bows, and Salmon River cutthroat, and even Jefferson River whitefish eagerly took it. It's now my go-to fly, stealing the spot Renegades used to occupy in my arsenal. The build of these is as good or better than most Purple Haze parachutes I already own, and a good value on sale.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great brook trout and salmon fly this is a great color for Maine rivers. I think it is so effective because it is a subsurface fly which is easy to follow on the drift.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite dry!!! Went out yesterday and the fish were not hitting my normal stuff I use. This is a pattern I do try in new water but was on my home water. So I tied a size 18 on and just killed them. Fish were leaping out of the water!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Prospecting Fly Used this on my local tailwater, a typical midge river, and hooked into a brown on the very first cast. Talk about a confidence booster. Over the last 2 times out, I've landed ~ 18 Bows and Browns with the same fly and it looks brand new. Used this on flat water with no rises, and this fly really gets them looking up.
