Please mention you will be attending the Orvis Fly Fishing School.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Introduction to Fly Fishing My wife and I attended the two day Fly-Fishing School in Sept. We selected this school based on the Orvis's brand and also the content. Our instructor/guides, Jay and Hunter, were excellent. There was a lot of great information to help us understand the various skills needed as well as a focus on actually applying the skills. Jay and Hunter were both excellent at providing coaching in the field and glad to share information on a sport they love. I'd also highly recommend either of our instructors if you are ever in the Vail/Beaver Creek area and want a guide. I'd also suggest booking several days, directly after the class for a guided trip. Wish I'd thought to do this. You can find Jay, Hunter or other Orvis Endorsed Guides at @FlyFishingOutfitters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Father/Son time My 10 year old son and I just completed the Orvis School 2-day course. Jay and Hunter were exceptional instructors. They were knowledgeable, passionate, friendly, patient, and fun. I highly recommend this course if you're just getting started with fly fishing. It will be our foundation for many father/son memories for years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great class I wanted to start fly fishing after a 35 year break & took the course in Beaver Creek to get a review/foundation. It far exceeded my expectations. Jay & Hunter were awesome! Their knowledge and ability to tailor the course to each of our needs was impressive. Now I can spend my time fishing and not struggling with the most basic. After the course, although knowing there's lots more to learn, I'm starting at a much higher level. This past Sunday, fishing alone on a small, high-mountain stream, I enjoyed a 30+ fish afternoon. Well worth the two days to get the basics and more. Thanks Jay & Hunter & Orvis!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Class The class meet all my objections in giving me the necessary tools and knowledge to enjoy a sport that I’m really passionate about. This was made possible by the outstanding instruction from Jay and Hunter. They are extremely knowledgeable and technical. They have you Fly fishing with confidence by the end of the class...great instructors. I will be going back to go fishing with them for sure on the Eagle River...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I’m hooked! Hunter did a great job helping with the basics and getting us on the river to apply what we learned. That first rainbow was a pretty amazing experience. I learned enough in the class to feel comfortable getting on the river solo for the duration of the trip. Thanks!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best experience you can have I have been fly fishing for about 8 years, mostly self taught. I recieved the 2 day school as a present. I was excited to go but the experience surpassed all expectations. JC was the instructor of the class. I can't say enough of his professionalism and experience. Ever step of the way he made sure the experience was top shelf. The casting instruction JC gave was spot on. He has a great way with people and he was able to take my casting to the next level. He gave me three things to work on and provided drills that would help me retain the instruction. He did this for both basic casting and roll cast. He even provided a short video of me doing the drills so I can reference them. My casting is without question much more advanced due to the instruction JC gave. It has already increased my ability to catch fish and my enjoyment of the sport. During the classroom time, JC was informative and answered any questions. I particularly enjoyed the explanation of his thoughts on reading the water. This will help me catch many more fish. Without hesitation I would recommend the 2 day class to anyone wanting to enjoy this sport more. I would specifically ask for JC. You will enjoy his instruction and professionalism. You will not be disappointed!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Learning Experience Jay and Hunter are wonderful instructors! I went into this class with several guided trips under my belt, but zero solo fly fishing activity. My primary objective for the course was to learn how to stand on my own so I can fish by myself and with buddies. After completing this course, I know I'm set up for success. Highly recommend for beginners and intermediate fly fishermen and women!
