Great book for those looking to expand knowledge
I’m halfway through the book and have found it very useful. The book so far has covered: characteristics and habits of trout, how to read and approach the water, and covers the insects that trout eat and how to present flies. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has less than a year of exposure to fly fishing. There a many pointers that I’ll be able to utilize on future trips and I’m sure they’ll be more productive.

Great gift and fantastic service from the store in
I picked this up as a gift for an avid fly fisherman and he really liked it. Service from the store in Charleston was fantastic, as usual. Nice people with great ideas to help you while not being pushy.

Well Written but Poorly Published
I bought the book because I enjoy reading books written by Tom Rosenbauer. I own his other book "Beginning Fly Fishing" which I thoroughly enjoyed. I would have enjoyed this book as much except I don't like the way the book is presented, the text seems to be slightly smaller, book is not as durable and the book size is much too big for packing in a small bag. If it would have been published in the same format as his "Beginning Fly Fishing" I would have given it 5 stars..

packed with useful info
As usual, Tom has written a book that is easy to read, and packed with useful information. Much of it is written for experienced fly fishers, which is nice for a change. I didn't come away with the feeling that it was organized with a stepwise approach to reach the next level. But if one understands and uses the information provided, you will be at the next level!

Great book. Quick read and very informative
I bought this book after attending a TU annual banquet that featured The author as a guest speaker. Tom presented the content of the book with slides and video. Tom is an engaging speaker and this book does a great job of breaking down fly fishing into a few simple concepts that helped me get past the intimidation phase and out into the stream.
