The Story

No stillwater box would be complete without a good damselfly nymph. Large trout and bass alike love the easy meal they provide, and the Hot Head Damsel is a great imitation that will draw vicious strikes.

Size: 10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works all the time I use orange head above nymph or below a dry fly. 90% of time orange head gets the trout.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful tie My wife was in the store and asked the person there to pull some bass flies for me. He threw this one in to try. It is beautiful. next time I go out, I am tossing this baby first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fish Enticing Acion While I tie my own heavier versions I always keep some of the originals on hand for shallower presentations. Brookies love the red head, Rainbows the chartreuse. Works great moved slowly parallel to shore near vegetation or cast it perpendicular and use quick strips. Think BIG fish!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Killer fly If you like to get immediate strikes..... recommend having half dozen in box. Use when no fly activity hatching

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Instant strikes in NH This has become my go to prospecting fly for local Southern NH streams. Also works well on the Holliston or Watauga River in Bristol TN. Always catches great Rainbows and browns with the redhead green body dragon fly. Have not caught brookies yet on this fly. Green head does not work as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my top flies This was one of my new flies I tried out stillwater fishing here in Washington State. Took it to a local state lake that has a lot of fishing pressure and it didn't take long to catch fish once I tied it on. This fly landed me my biggest fish on a flyrod, granted I'm a beginner and the fish was 1.5 pounds, it was still amazing for me and it put on quite a spectacle doing several aerials. Also caught were another rainbow, 14" and a smallmouth bass around 10" that nabbed this as I was stripping out line preparing to troll again, hilarious. This is now one of my top two flies.
