The Story

When he researched caddis behavior, Gary Lafontaine actually observed Caddis fly behavior under water and designed the Sparkle Pupa fly to imitate a gas bubble formed by rising caddis nymphs. Carrying these nymphs in several colors will ensure you a successful fishing day and you'll be confident using this fly.

Sizes 14, 16.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT FLY If caddis are coming off they will eat this fly. Works anywhere in the water column.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have on limestone streams I was showing my buddy how to fish nymphs (as he had only fished drys) with the sparkle pupa and after catching 5 trout in 7 casts, he was a convert. An awesome fly to have in your arsenal if you're fishing Pennsylvania's limestone.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Low quality The last few orders of flies I have received I have had to fix loose threads from poor tying then I still only get to use each fly one time before they come apart. They are cheaply and poorly made now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I look forward to the use of this fly in the near future. Whenever possible and because of past experience; I purchase most of my fishing gear and clothing because of the quality and easy return policy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made This is a classic fly by Gary La Fontaine. I have found it to work when the caddis are hatching. This particular offering seems well made. I look forward to using it on the Colorado rivers if I see any Brachycentruls.sp. activity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautifuly Tied Uff da. I'm fit to be fly tied, so to speak. Just received my individually selected Orvis nymphs, wets, and flymps to round out my boxes in anticipation of Wisconsin opener. They are tied beautifully. Their subtle rich colors and perfect proportions have put me into a dilemma whether to fish them or display them.
