Good while it lasted
It functioned as it should for a while. The plastic clips were always very loose and I would lose my net a lot.
My net fell off today along with the magnets that were attached to it. When I went to go land a trout in the river, the net, magnets and bungee lanyard were nowhere to be found.
Good idea, not a great execution.

Secure!
To be honest, I have never used a net for years (normally unhooking my trout & grayling in the water before releasing them). However, this year I decided to return to using a net as the club I am in want their members to photo as many fish as possible so they can assess numbers and see if fish are caught multiple times and photographing a fish in the hand whilst thigh deep in water isn't easy! So I bought the Orvis Classic landing net and the magnetic release to go with it just before the start of the 2021 Trout Season in the UK. The magnetic is super strong, so there is no chance of the net dropping off when moving around, but it is easy to release when you are ready to land that fish - it also matches the colour of my Orvis alloy tippet bar as well. The lanyard is a good length with plenty of elasticity and the net clips back in place without any issues. I would give it a full five marks but I have only used it a couple of times and I am unsure as to the longevity of the split rings, time will tell.

Dearly priced
After mis reading what I thought was a scoop net and magnet for the price of around £28 I took delivery of a magnet only for that price . Although it was my error how anyone can charge that price for a scoop net magnet is extremely overcharged and for that reason I will not be recommending ORVIS to my fishing colleagues.

Amazing Net Release
I purchased this after hearing great things about this product. At first I was skeptical that the magnet would not be strong enough and that I would potentially lose my net, but that couldn't be further from the truth. The strength of this magnet is INSANE! I highly recommend everyone getting this product for easy net access without worrying about losing your net.

strong magnet, weak o-rings
magnets work great, almost to strong, the o-rings on both ends ended up straightening out after some use and i had to secure the magnetics to jacket and net using my own material made out of bungee and made a knot.

Original was defective- Easy replacement
The original was defective (magnet is only glued in the socket and the stress of pulling it free from the other magnet caused it to come loose). The guys at the store were out of replacements but shipped a new one to me with free 2 day shipping. Hoping for the best with future use.

Nice but didn't last like other Orvis products
The glue holding one of the magnets broke after about a year. I tried re-gluing it, which was a temporary fix for a couple weeks at a time. Tried that a few times before it broke a final time and I lost part of it. High quality otherwise but the glue didn't hold up as expected.
