Rated 1 out of 5 by from Orvis X30 electronic earplugs I finally got to use these last and I am very disappointed. The left side does not appear to work at all. I saw nothing in the documentation that states which size battery to use for a replacement. I purchase from and shoot at Orvis sites quite a bit and this is certainly the most disappointing and useless product I have purchased yet. Absolutely do not recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed!! Jury Is Still Out! I had trouble with the delivery. The first time the box did not contain all the items that I expected to be included. It was missing three set silicone ear tips and two sets of the Secure fit extenders. Furthermore, the product manual left a number of questions about proper use unanswered. For example, do the silicone or foam ears offer more protection...or how do you shut the device off after you get replacement parts like the ear tips when needed. You might think that would be the manufactuer, However, the telephnoe number and email address provided in the product manual are not valid. I called Orvis explained my concerns and they exchanged the product by telephone and promised a product rep would call me to answer my is a week and a half and no one has called. Also the replacement device, which arrived as promised, was missing several parts as well. My main objective for the purchase was hearing protection. I used it on the clays course for the first time yesterday. I was initially hapy with the way it allowed me to hear normal sounds and conversations, and the way it block the sound of the shot gun. However, the batteries died in less that an hour. I will try them again the day after tomorrow and if the battery life is this short again I will be sending them back. Oh, one final thing they are comfortable to wear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great earplugs for shooting Got the electronic earplugs for my hubbie for Xmas. Gave them to him early....just in case I had to return them....but he loved using them at the gun range! Great choice!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from unreliable Following up on my earlier review: CON: need needle nose pliers to turn the ridiculously small knobs - definitely can't be done with gloves or mittens on. CON: one unit worked only intermittently, and now has failed entirely. Used all of ten days over two hunting seasons.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works, but klutzy I bought these last fall, before gun deer season. The ear tips provide the noise reduction; the electronics cut off high volumes. PRO: I was able to locate a mortally wounded deer because I could hear leaves rustling. I would not have heard that without the amplification. CON: the tiny volume knobs are hard to turn, and there is no obvious "off". The websites in the manual no longer exist; makes you wonder about the future of the product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from My ears have been ringing since shooting yesterday I own both this product and the Orvis ear muffs. Night and day difference. Muffs really work well. Tried these for first time yesterday. Shot 100 Clays and my ears have been ringing ever since. I would not recommend these.
