The Story

An authentic working cattle ranch rooted in the traditions of West Texas ranching and premier wild quail hunting, Guitar Outdoors offers a hunting experience that captures the true spirit of the sport. Nestled in the rugged brush country of Northwest Texas, it is a place where the sound of flushing coveys, the instinct of seasoned bird dogs, and the camaraderie of great friends create memories that last a lifetime.

Guitar Outdoors welcomes quail hunters seeking the challenge and excitement of pursuing 100% wild bobwhite and scaled (blue) quail across more than 70,000 acres of carefully managed prime habitat. Every hunt reflects a deep respect for the land, wildlife, and traditions that make Texas quail hunting unlike anywhere else.

Deeply committed to sustainability, conservation, and responsible ecosystem management, the ranch carefully balances livestock operations with wildlife stewardship to preserve the native rangelands that wild quail depend on. Through intentional habitat management practices, including brush management, native grass restoration, water development, and grazing strategies designed to support healthy ecosystems, Guitar Outdoors works year-round to sustain thriving populations of wild bobwhite and scaled quail.

Bobwhite quail require a delicate balance of native grasses, brush cover, food sources, and open ground to survive and flourish. Guitar Outdoors actively manages its landscape to create and maintain this ideal habitat, ensuring that future generations can continue to experience authentic wild quail hunting in its purest form. These conservation efforts not only support quail populations but also strengthen the overall health and biodiversity of the ranch ecosystem.

From the moment guests arrive, they are immersed in an unforgettable ranch experience defined by genuine hospitality, knowledgeable guides, and exceptional bird dogs. The ranch’s professional guides are accomplished sportsmen and skilled dog handlers who are passionate about preserving the heritage of quail hunting and conserving the land itself. Their determined dogs work tirelessly through the Texas brush, eagerly pointing and flushing birds while delivering the thrill of the hunt at its finest.

Here, quail hunting is more than a pastime. It is a way of life built on tradition, stewardship, conservation, and a lasting commitment to the land.
