Our patent-pending ball-and-ramp drag provides the ultimate precision and smoothness you need when fighting big fish.
100% customer satisfaction has been our commitment since 1856. It's who we are. If you aren't happy with a product or service, we want to know about it. And we'll make it right.
THAT'S THE ORVIS WAY.
The Mirage is a technologically superior fly fishing reel conceived and designed from the ground up and built in New England by American craftsmen to battle powerful fish and stand up to corrosive saltwater environments. It features a sealed, maintenance-free carbon and stainless steel disc drag system with an aggressive knurled drag knob that goes from zero to full drag in a single rotation. The patent-pending ball-and-ramp drag mechanism delivers a smooth, non-linear drag curve, providing precise, consistent adjustments where it matters most—during the fight.
The super-large arbor increases retrieve rates while reducing line coil. Machined in the USA from strong yet lightweight 6061-T6 aluminum bar stock, the Mirage includes an ergonomically designed machined aluminum handle and a quick-release spool that easily converts from left- to right-hand retrieve. Military-spec Type III hard-coat anodizing ensures durability, while a titanium shaft adds strength without extra weight. A fully radiused reel foot helps prevent kinked leaders, and the low-profile counterweight won’t catch fingers or fly lines.
The size VI Mirage comes with two spool choices. Pick the high-capacity deep spool for blue water species or the standard shallow spool for the highest amount of line pickup for the serious tarpon angler.
