The Story

Tucked away along a secluded stretch of the Pecos River, SpiritFly Expeditions offers a truly unique warm-water fly fishing experience on a private-access river lost in time. This hidden fishery flows through cottonwood forests and golden desert vistas, where anglers can pursue Smallmouth bass, Largemouth bass, and Carp in solitude and serenity.

We are passionate stewards of this remarkable ecosystem, combining technical expertise with an educator’s touch. Each trip offers guests the chance to learn about casting mechanics, entomology, and the intricate balance of the river’s ecology, all while sight fishing to powerful, wild fish in shallow, clear water.

What sets SpiritFly apart is the experience itself: a mindful approach to fly fishing that celebrates connection to nature, to the river, and to the moment. With streamlined transportation from Albuquerque, planning your adventure is effortless from start to finish. Guests are welcomed with the same care we give the water, and each outing is designed to blend adventure, education, and conservation.

This private fishery represents one of the few remaining places in the Southwest where warm-water fly fishing feels both wild and untouched. Whether wading quietly through sunlit shallows or watching the river come alive at dusk, SpiritFly Expeditions invites you to experience New Mexico fly fishing at its most soulful.
