A destination for all seasons, the Bitterroot Valley on the western Montana and Idaho border is a place of majesty, serenity, natural beauty, and comfort in all four seasons. In spring, the meadows are alive with wildflowers and the air is fresh with new beginnings. In summer, the sun-filled days are perfect for horseback riding, fishing, scenic float trips, rafting, and swimming.
The mountains dressed for fall are a dazzling sight with bright blue skies and aspen shimmering in the warm sun, and crisp, cool evenings to enjoy a stroll under the stars. Our often-mild winters are exhilarating with the beautiful silence of fresh powder mornings, the breathtaking grandeur of Bitterroot Mountain panoramas and the excitement of alpine and Nordic skiing, dog sledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, or horseback riding through unspoiled snow-covered wilderness.
Montana, a land of majestic, vast spaces encountered by the early Spanish explorers who bestowed this name upon a territory rich in natural wonders and abundant wildlife. Pristine rivers burst forth from snow-capped peaks of the Rocky Mountain range and meander through a countryside that has not been greatly altered since Lewis & Clark first limned its boundaries. Today, countless acres of unspoiled wilderness serve as an unparalleled playground for adventurers of every kind. They share this space with the bison and elk that still roam freely, and not much else. Come experience the Last Best Place at Triple Creek Ranch, a serene mountain escape of plush comfort and quiet, elegant civilization from which our guests set forth each day to play under the Big Sky and breathe deeply its exhilarating air.

History:
The original 40 acres of the ranch belonged to Reverend and Mrs. House from New York State. He was a minister in nearby Conner, and she taught at the little red schoolhouse on Piquette Creek Road. Both were also teachers at the school in Darby and raised four children in the original house at the center of Triple Creek Ranch.
The first fifty acres of Triple Creek Ranch was purchased and developed by a Michigan industrialist in 1982. Triple Creek Ranch served as his personal retreat for the first four years and then was developed into "Triple Creek Ranch, a Montana Hideaway". In 1993, he sold the property and business to the current owners, a couple who had been frequent guests and had fallen in love with the ranch. They have since infused the resort with their passion for the great American West and a taste for luxury that has made Triple Creek Ranch the elegant Montana high country resort it is today. In 1995, the Ranch became a member of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux Association.
Environment:
Triple Creek Ranch is a member of "Clean the World," which recycles soap and shampoo for impoverished countries. Guests can participate in a voluntary towel re-hang, reuse program to save water and electricity. The resort runs on low-wattage CFS and LED lighting to further save electricity. Housekeeping utilizes environmentally friendly, low-phosphorus cleaning aids, soaps and detergents. Guests at Triple Creek Ranch can go catch-and-release fishing and participate in a variety of complimentary tours including eco-nature, orchard and garden tours. The resort also offers bird and flower identification walks. Triple Creek Ranch maintains all horseback riding trails, thus making this well-preserved, rugged area ideal for viewing wildlife.
Community:
Triple Creek Ranch has established a college scholarships program to assist employees and their children with school expenses. Merit-based Scholarships are also awarded to students from Darby High School.
Conservation:
Triple Creek Ranch has planted over 100,000 ponderosa pine seedlings to promote regrowth following area wildfires, and to maintain the area’s natural beauty. All fencing on property is wildlife friendly. Certified weed-free hay is fed to livestock, and the ranch participates in an on-going program of noxious weed extermination. Pasture rotation, stream bank restoration, and stream-bed rehabilitation are among the other efforts that help preserve the local ecosystem. In order to protect and preserve the stream-bred trout of the Bitterroot’s Blue Ribbon waters, all fishing is catch-and-release.
Triple Creek Ranch has established a 25,000-acre conservation district with perpetual conservation easements. The resort also eliminated 176 subdivided lots and placed that land in a conservation district to protect the wildlife inhabiting the area. An active contributor to wildlife research, Triple Creek Ranch has aided the Owl Research Institute, Montana Peregrine Institute, Raptors of the Rockies, Wind River Bear Institute, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
