The Story

Polyester. Washable. Hang dry. Imported.

Sizes S(34-36), M(38-40), L(42-44), XL(46-48), XXL(50-52); about 33" long in size medium.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Is Improved I bought the new version of this to replace the prior version because the old one drove me crazy when various Velcro closures on cuffs, pockets and storm flap all snagged repeatedly on each other. New snaps solve that. Was disappointed that zippers now match fabric as former black ones offered sharp contrast. New one is slightly larger presumably to accommodate layering. Both have the same luxurious hand. I commute to and from work on foot, which is made possible by the features, light weight, and length of this coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket This jacket is the best for keeping you dry in heavy rain. Especially useful when wearing a blazer. Very lightweight and packable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great foul weather jacket Not sure of some of the negative reviews. My jacket is truly great for rain and cold when worn with a vest underneath. Went through a day of torrential rain and cold. It shed water like a duck’s back, kept me warm and did not make me too hot like some other rain proof jackets. I do not have any problem with the zipper like some have mentioned. I really like this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More comfortable than you'd ever believe I'm a photographer, and if my subjects are out in the rain, so am I. This jacket has kept me dry, despite having been in rain ranging from drizzle to tropical downpours (eg more than an inch per hour). Sizing is slightly on the large size, which works for me as sometimes gear has to go under the jacket too. Lots of pockets, a hood that really works, and plenty of adjustments for sleeves and pockets makes it very useful. Very niggling complaints: 1) if you aren't careful about starting the main zipper, it can be hard to get zipped. But it's just a matter of being careful. 2) sometimes the velcro on the sleeves finds itself stuck to velcro on the main zipper flap or (much less often) on a pocket flap. I definitely hesitated spending this much on a rain coat, but it has been well worth the price. I would absolutely recommend it to friends. In fact, I have (and they're happy too).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functional. This is my all around weather layer. Keeps the wind out and moisture dispelled. Perfect weight for Florida weather. Pockets are designed right. Roomy for layering up, but is shaped so it doesn't look like a big bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What title ? I’m supposed to say “great features” as you suggest? How about reality? The zipper sucks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rain jacket The Purnell jacket is great. Fully waterproof and wind resistant. Cut large, but that is perfect for cold days when you need to add a layer. The sleeves are a bit too long, but you can roll then up if you must. Plenty of pockets. Zippers work fine. The hood is great. Rolls up into the collar or hangs out. Protects against rain and wind. Well designed.
