The Story

A very simple, buggy looking foam terrestrial with one great advantage -- a bright orange dot on the back of the fly that makes this pattern easy to see on the water. These are particularly good fly patterns in the late evening hours when visibility is limited. Foam body keeps it on top of the water without a lot of effort. Color, Black.

Sizes: 12, 14, 16.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great terrestrial! Love this fly works great even on a bright sunny day and I love the red dot on the back which is needed! This fly works great as visible dry fly on a dry dropper rig.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for panfish in Massachusetts I use this on a 5wt rod with 5x leader on the Charles river and never went home without fish. Great for panfish in hot summer months in Massachusetts. Tried it in many different ponds/lakes

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Out darned spot! The clever red dot fell off the fly after three casts! Not so visable after that! Used for a while longer, but no action.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Trout LOVE this bug I bought several of these and I am glad I did. I started using a hopper but nothing hit this. Then I switched to this beetle and the trout literally tore this up. One beetle caught 6 trout at Bennett Springs, Mo and three were literally back to back to back. It made an older gentleman mad that I was catching all the fish when I had only been there about 15 minutes. After I caught my limit I gave my last one to a 17 year old kid, told him how to fish it. The next day I saw this same 17 year old and his dad. They told me they caught 7 in a span of 15 feet circle. This bug works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stillwater pattern I bought this belt and others form Orvis because of the quality of the fly and how well it works on stillwater fishing. I go thru a half dozen of these a year. It floats well when presented delicately and attracts fish like a magnet. If you fish lakes you need at least three of these. Works almost year round. Big trout love them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bug, has trouble staying upright Looks good, but whenever I lay it down it seems to have a 50/50 chance of being upright.
