The Story

One of the great things about fishing caddis emerger flies is their remarkable effectiveness due to the vulnerable stage they're imitating; trout key in on this. One of the hard things about fishing Caddis emergers is they are down in the film and often very difficult to see. This caddis fly pattern offers the best of both worlds, a very realistic pattern that will draw strikes with a parachute post that makes it much easier to see.

Sizes: Tan (14, 16, 18), Black (18, 20), Olive (14, 16, 18)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When nymphs and dries don’t work We have all seen it. The nymphs stop working but the trout aren’t yet surface feeding. Try the middle or onto a hopper dropper rig and you will not be disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Been looking for these flies ... This emerger pattern is a killer on my local caddis rivers, but my local fly shops stopped carrying it for some reason. I was glad to find it on Orvis site and ordered a few. Used them the next day and did very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well tied. Good impressionistic. Watched for late morning emerger feeding in tailrace. Action with three nice bows. Think a number 20 will be more effective than an 18.....will order a couple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the white Like the white, makes it easier as I get older and my vision fades. I will probably use it as a dropper below one of my favorite dry flies

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it!! I have this fly in several sizes, it works very well. I like that I can see it, and it floats in the film perfectly. I have caught many a brown trout in the Sierra's on this fly when rising trout would not hit a dry caddis.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Fly When Caddis Are On The Water I love the way the spotlight is so visable and the way the fish key on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive I've fished the Elk Wing adult Caddis for quite a while and decided to give an emerger Caddis a try. I'm sorry I waited so long. The natural of this fly is often a more attractive and easier prey for trout. A must have in the dry fly fisherman's fly box. Love this fly and have caught 20+ fish with it over the last 2 outings.
