The Story

If you need to get DOWN, then tungsten head conehead flies are the ones you want to use. When the current is ripping and the water is deep, or in still water if the fish are holding deep, this is the go-to fly. Fish this conehead fly with a Depth Charge line in still water and a Streamer Stripper in fast water and you'll be guaranteed to get down where the big boys are hanging.

Sizes: 4, 6, 8, 10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The #1 streamer This is the overall most productive streamer I’ve used in many years of fly fishing. It still definitely outperforms any other streamer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright bugger This woolly bugger is great if you’re trying to draw them in while fishing in darker water. Just like the other buggers this fly catches all kinds of fish

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Go to fly for big trout Can’t tell you how many nice trout (and smallmoths) I’ve caught on these flies when fished as a trailer behind a Tungsten head nymph.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deadly When you need get down deep to the big ones without adding a bunch of shot that continuously hangs you up... this a great fly for the job. Worked as a trailer or dropper with a bead head nymph of your choice and you can dredge them up from the depths.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tungsten Cone Head Wolly Bugger This is an excellent fly for prospecting for trout or salmon. It is tied to move in a very enticing way -- even when swung on a dead drift. Larger size is great for salmon, and the smaller sizes down to 12 are great for trout.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Runs deep My favorite fly. Cast this thing slightly downstream and the start stripping at the end of the drift, It runs deep, so you will lose some flies; but, you will also catch fish. Olive is what works for me. I would love to see more color creativity (brown, olive and brown, white, chartreuse, etc.)
