Michigan: Fly Shop Attendant - Pere Marquette River Lodge

We are looking for a part-time to full-time fly shop attendant. Hours will vary between peak and non-peak seasons.


Responsibilities


Duties include stocking and cleaning the fly shop, booking guided trips, and helping retail customers. We are looking for someone with a positive friendly attitude, well-rounded knowledge of fishing and basic knowledge of computers and POS Systems.


Qualifications


  • 18 years old minimum, 21 preferred
  • possess a valid US driver's license
  • intermediate or greater experience fly fishing
  • Michigan fly fishing experience highly desired
  • ability to handle cash
  • ability to stay on his/her feet for several hours at a time in a fast-paced retail environment

Michigan: General Manager at Wingshooting Lodge - Meemos Farm

The General Manager will provide operational excellence through thoughtful management and leadership, outstanding hospitality, as well as thoughtful financial management of the business.

This is a multi-faceted role, with diverse responsibilities, requiring teamwork, entrepreneurship and adaptability focused on continuous improvement and delivery of goals in partnership with staff.



With a passion for the outdoors, the GM must be adaptable to granular operation detail as well as acting and fulfilling a long-term strategy and vision. 

 

Responsibilities: 


  • The position will report directly to the owner of the property and/or their designated representative.
  • The position will oversee the daily business operations of Meemos Farm. In doing so, the GM will work closely with providing leadership and support to the properties key operations, including: all aspects of our hunting operations (upland birds, white tail deer and Turkey), Guest Services, Kitchen/ Food services and the Landscape & Maintenance departments.
  • The GM is responsible for business operations, leadership development, internal communication, community engagement, marketing, human resources, and administration.
  • The role is multi-faceted with diverse responsibilities requiring business acumen and entrepreneurship with a focus on continuous execution and improvement of goals in partnership with staff. An ability to switch context from granular operating activities to longer-term planning and strategy are essential.
  • The GM is expected to be a working manager and have a solid knowledge of the Farms operation in order to oversee all activities but also lend a helping hand as needed.


Qualifications: 


  • Previous management of an Orvis Wing-shooting Lodge is highly desired.
  • Must be proactive and committed to learning about and implementing the mission of Meemos Farm.
  • A passion for the land, the outdoors and wildlife.
  • The applicant must possess an outgoing personality with strong organization, communication, analytical and team-building skills and have the ability to multi-task.
  • Applicants must have minimum of 5 years experience in hospitality/ luxury lodge management with more than 10 employees and show a track record of managing, operating and developing a business.
  • A management style that befits a growth organization, based on collaboration, curiosity, active listening, clear communication, problem solving and accountability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Entrepreneurial and learning mindset.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including ability to read, interpret and develop actionable responses to financial statements.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office, Excel, and familiarity with digital technology tools.


Education:


Desired undergraduate degree, preferably in business, hotel management, ranch/lodge management or agribusiness or other applicable program.

Michigan: Hunt Outdoor Manager - Meemos Farm

Located on over 1,700 acres in Michigan’s central Lower Peninsula, Meemos Farm is an established Premier Orvis endorsed wing-shooting lodge and corporate retreat.


Primary Role


Meemo’s Farm Hunt / Outdoor manager’s primary role is to provide comprehensive support to the General Manager in the areas of business operations that focus on hunting, dog training, staff development, grounds maintenance and development, leadership, and guest service.

 

Responsibilities: 


  • Typical work activities and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Reviewing and assessing Meemos Farm’s current facilities with respect to all aspects of hunting and shooting and making recommendations (complete with budgets) as to how they can be improved. This is particularly relevant to increasing Meemos Farm’s wing shooting and clay shooting business.
  • Working closely with the General Manager to develop and adhere to business plans; schedules; and budgets for materials, labor, game birds, and other purchases.
  • Monitoring financial results, implementing cost savings and revenue generation strategies.
  • Ensuring all hunts and shooting activities are carried out in a safe and professional manner whilst providing a memorable shooting and hunting experience for the client.
  • Guide training, guide evaluation, and directing or conducting hunts in order to offer hunting experiences of the highest quality to clients.
  • Responsible for the development of Meemos Farm’s dog training / dog breeding / boarding program. With a high emphasis on the training of Meemos Farm dogs
  • Being responsible and accountable for all gun dog facilities including the training, general caring, health and wellbeing and maintenance of Meemos Farm gun dogs, clients dogs and kennels
  • Being responsible and accountable for all game related activities including the general caring, health and release of game birds
  • Responsibility (in conjunction with the General Manager) for design, layout, cultivation and planting of upland bird cover crops and deer feed plots.
  • Planning and implementing land and wildlife management initiatives that will enhance Meemos Farm’s reputation as a world-class game preserve.
  • Coordinating the general upkeep of the lawns, grounds, roads, and the associated machinery and equipment needed to maintain them, including developing and implementing machine and vehicle maintenance and safety programs.
  • Participating in the development and execution of all Health and Safety policies and procedures adopted by Meemos Farm and complying with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations

 

Qualifications: 


  • Applicants must have experience in and show a track record of managing the outdoor and hunt operations of a similar wing shooting / hunting facility
  • Proven experience in land management, cultivation and planting of upland bird cover crops and deer feed plots is essential
  • Experienced Wing-shooter, dog training experience is highly desirable
  • Strong leadership and management skills

Illinois: Upland Guide - Harpole's Heartland Lodge

Our upland division has seen tremendous growth the past several years. We are looking for an upland guide to guide during the hunting season. The position can be seasonal or develop into full time.

Colorado: Housekeeping/ Customer Service Team Member - North Fork Ranch

We are seeking energetic, friendly individuals looking to join our team to finish off our season. Start date of immediate to the end of October.


Most days are a combination of meals and cleaning with the rotation of meals depending on the number of staff we have available.



$18 per hour based on a 40 hour work week.


We are looking for well rounded, hardworking, customer service driven individuals to join our team!


Responsibilities: 


  • Housekeeping duties consist mainly from 9am to 12pm. Cleaning of the rooms for carry over guests or new arriving guests. General cleaning of room/bathroom, common areas, porches, and dining areas.
  • Tasks such as sweeping, dusting, moping, bedmaking, general cleaning and laundry.
  • Waitstaff consists of a rotation of three meals a day; breakfast 7:30-8:30am, lunch at 12:00-1:00pm, dinner 6:00- 8pm. Breakfast is a hot plate from the kitchen along with making sure tables have other items such as drinks and other breakfast items, clearing of tables, and some resetting. Lunch is a buffet either outside or inside. Refilling of drinks, clearing plates, and serving of additional food items such as dessert. Dinner is family style served seated. Setting of tables, serving of salads, bread, main course, and dessert. Along with general requests from tables and needs of customers.


Qualifications: 


  • Customer service industry experience.
  • Willingness to learn and be a part of our small family run operation.
