Rated 3 out of 5 by from Honest review Let’s admit it, orvis makes some great products which look great. That being said, I don’t think these shoes completely make the cut. As far as drainage, I think they hold quite a bit of water and you will feel the water swoosh around in the shoe for at least the next 30 or so steps. There are no drain holes at the bottom so the water will only leave when the shoe is tilted side ways. Works great when launching a kayak since your feet will be in a tilted position. But when stepping into water when landing, you’ll hold water until you get to the car. Poor drainage compared to most water shoes. Construction is top notch however, these will last forever. Water shoes take a beating and start breaking down from repeated exposure to water. These will survive the test of time. The aeroprene sock is helpful I’d imagine for large debris, like pebbles and gravel, etc. however seeing that it is not a tight seal, it can only reduce the amount of debris getting into the shoes, not eliminate. I’m not sure what type of material the socks are made of, but the stitching is absolute torture on the feet. I would seriously advise wearing wool or 0.5 neoprene socks with these. I wanted to test the shoes without socks thinking they’re going to be comfortable as they were on the way to the lake. I was wrong. I’m not sure if it was sand or silt, or the socks, or a combination of all plus wet feet, but I absolutely will not forget to bring wool socks next time. Things I like, great construction, look fantastic, very durable, great features. I can only recommend them if you wear socks underneath.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Blisters, Blisters, Blisters!!! Have worn the Pro Approach shoe twice since I got them about a month ago. Wore them the first day without socks, since the neoprene mesh around the ankle is marketed as an integrated sock. I only fished a couple hours and had blisters just above both heels. Just got them healed up and wore them fishing today with socks, and still came away with blisters. For $150 these things should not blister both feet with or without socks. Very disappointed. I have lots of Orvis gear... Waders, packs, 3 fly rods, and haven’t been disappointed until now. If you are thinking about buying these, just think about how much you like blisters.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hard to get on/support & cushion not good. Great idea, but for the older generation, the shoe can be hard to get on. In addition, the cushion and support seems less than that of a good jogging shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Back Country Shoe My wife and I both purchased a pair of these shoes for our high-mountain, back-country trips. We love hiking to remote locations but doing so with bulky, heavy wadders/boots isn't ideal. These shoes combined with a good pair of neoprene socks are perfect for hiking. They are light and super durable. They dry and drain quicker than other wet wadding options I have used in the past which is ideal for the hike back after fishing. The best part is their traction while in the water. Having soles designed for traction when wet makes a world of difference!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Heel Destroyer So disappointed in this product. Rubs my heels completely raw. Not a huge deal, as I've started just putting a large band aid on my heels to fix the problem. Other than that, comfort is great, traction is great, and it's everything I could want in a wet wading boot. However, for this price, I shouldn't have bleeding heels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great wading shoe! This was my first purchase of a wet-dry shoe, so I was not sure what to expect. Quality of construction and materials seems first rate. The integrated sock has prevented sand and gravel from entering during several trials. The shoe itself is very sturdy and the sole provides excellent traction moving into and out of the water. Highly recommended!
