Join us for an Orvis Fly-Fishing School at the Snake River Sporting Club in beautiful Jackson Hole, Wyoming this summer. Situated on 800-acres of verdant topography, the Snake River Club and Ranch embrace natural surroundings and celebrate the beauty and ruggedness of the wilderness, offering great fishing opportunities, including six miles of private access to the Snake River.

We've teamed with the Jackson Hole Fly-Fishing School to offer an experience like none other. Jackson Hole and the surrounding area offer spectacular scenery and outdoor fun for the whole family. Each student will receive exclusive personalized attention while exploring fly-fishing fundamentals and techniques within Orvis's proven curriculum. A healthy combination of classroom time and on-river guidance will maximize individual student's potential. The school covers everything from fly casting, choosing the right tackle, leaders and knots, to fly selection and how to safely release fish. After the school, students can arrange a guided fly-fishing trip through WorldCast Anglers. The use of top-notch fly-fishing equipment and meals at the Snake River Sporting Club's Clubhouse are included.

Cancellation Policy & Fees:
If the reservation is cancelled 60+ days from your school date, Orvis will offer a full refund back the original method of payment, or the reservation can be transferred to another available school. If the reservation is cancelled 30-60 days from the date of the school, the customer will have a choice between a refund of 50% or transferring the reservation to another available school. On cancellations 29 days or less there is no refund and no transfer. There will be no refund extended to students who do not attend their scheduled school and do not notify the school within the timeframes listed in this policy. Any reservation that has been transferred to a different date cannot be later cancelled without 100% payment penalty.

2:15 Continuation to the Orvis Progressive method of casting

10:30 The Orvis Progressive Method to Fly Casting part one: video on the basic casting stroke.
11:00 Report to casting area for demonstration of the basic casting stroke; students casting.
Noon Lunch
1:00 Classroom presentation on leaders, and hands-on knot tying.
2:00 The Orvis Progressive Method to Fly Casting part two: video on shooting line, false casting, and roll casting.
2:30 Report to casting area for demonstration on shooting line, false casting, and roll casting; students casting.
3:00 Video tape students casting.
3:45 Classroom presentation on fly fishing equipment and accessories

2-Day School: DAY TWO

Time Activity & Description
9:00 Classroom presentation - Entomology and fly selection. Tips on how to handle, photograph, and release fish. Demonstration on hook-setting and fish fighting techniques
10:00 Video analysis
10:30 The Orvis Progressive Method to Fly Casting part three: video on the double haul
10:45 Report to casting area for demonstratoin on double hauling and casting techniques for windy conditions; students casting
Noon Lunch (catered to school)
1:00 Orvis-Endorsed fishing trips, and tips on fishing with guides
1:15 Snake River trip - talk on reading water. Demonstration on fishing flies on moving water.
3:45 Return to classroom for closing statements and graduation certificates
4:00 End of school
