The Story

The Outcast Cruzer is a float tube based on the top-selling Fish Cat 4 but with added frameless oar locks used on frameless pontoon boats and a two-piece lightweight aluminum oar. The oars allow the angler to move at least twice as fast, and reduce leg fatigue, particularly on those windy days when the angler needs to fight the wind. Above-the-water seating on foam seats puts the angler above the water line so you stay warmer, have a higher casting platform, and can see the fish better. Built-in oar rests on each pocket keep oars out of the way when fishing. Features include oar rest, two cargo pockets, and new adjustable magnetic apron attachment system. In cranberry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Met my expectations This is my first float tube so it took a bit to figure out how to get the foam seat in place, otherwise I love it! The oars are great to have for backup. I took it out on a small 225 acre lake. The wind came up late in the morning, 10-15 mph. I could still propel myself with fins but the oars made it easier to turn in the wind and provided additional propulsion. The oars stay strapped in place while carrying the Cruzer vertically by the handle on the bottom ~100 yards to and from the truck. The area behind the seat gets wet, can store a net and fishing rod there, but I stored the rest of my gear in the side pockets. The Boston valves are great (once I figured that out as well) and it inflates quickly with the NRS Super pump I bought from Orvis on sale. The stripping apron is nice for fly fishing, stays in place and kept my fly line out of my lap and legs.
