The Story

The OSG Commander has been redesigned for more comfort and versatility on fishing adventures. The stern now has an IGS pocket for an anchor or motor mount, and the bow has more room to accommodate fins. The Commander is 10' long and 47" wide for a stable ride as you glide over rolling waves down a river. The low profile design helps the boat navigate in windy conditions. This kayak-style frameless boat is easy to travel and pack to any destination. The Commander features an open cockpit for fin kicking, oars that stow away for casting, plenty of room in the back for gear, a comfortable seat, and IGS sleeves on both sides to attach pockets and rod holder mounts. Imported.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from OSG Commander Review: Excellent Inflatable So, this is my first inflatable. After looking for several months, I decided to purchase the Outcast OSG Commander and first impressions are that this kayak/pontoon is an excellent choice for anyone of any experience level. The oars are light, easy to mount and use and the seat is comfortable and easily adjusted on land and on the water. I've rigged it with a Scotty rod holder and Scotty anchor mount as well as created my own storage container (milk crate) that goes behind the seat with additional rod holders / net storage. I'm planning to eventually add the transom mount and 30-40lb thrust 36" trolling motor. The quality is fantastic, and it inflates very quickly with the hurricane 12v pump that I purchased (around 5 minutes). As stated in reviews that I read and in review of manual prior to purchase, its super light at 35lbs (with no gear) and fairly easy to carry from my vehicle to the water. Be sure to read the instruction manual for storage as there is some info in there that I wouldn't have thought of such as capping the oar mounts prior to rolling/storing, use the extra screws that come with the boat for mounts as Scotty screws that ship with accessories "may damage". I've only been out on lakes thus far but really looking forward to taking this on some overnight river trips. As with anything new, there will be a bit of a learning curve (working the inflation valves, capping, hand pump and guestimates for air pressure (2 PSI recommendation in manual w/visual on downward impression of 1/4"), etc. Overall, I could see this pontoon lasting me for the next 4/5 years in which time I'll hand off to my son and reevaluate an upgrade.
