The Story

Damselflies are prolific near stillwater and in the summer can be seen skimming the surface of lakes and ponds all over the country. Fish love these stillwater flies. When one sits on the water just a bit too long, it's a sure bet if a fish is near, it's coming after it. Bass, blue gills, trout, all will take a damsel fly in a second. If you see damsels flying, put this fly on. Color, Blue.

Sizes: 10, 12.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great! But a little too much This is a great fly, but when I saw a picture of a real one, those black legs aren't actually a real damselfly. What I did was snipped them off and I had much better luck. I don't kno where you live, but here in VA,the damselflies don't have long black legs

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A First I have never used a damsel fly imitation before, but was told to bring some on a reent fly fishing trip to Northern Maine. I observed brook trout trying to grab those blue damsels, and sometimes being successful. So out came Orvis' fluttering Blue Damsel. The trout went crazy for it and i caught my first brook trout on that type of fly. It works if that's what the fish are taking, and even in some cases where trout were noit actively feeding. It seemed to be just the right size and floated well.
