orvistravel@orvis.comThe lodge accommodations are unique. The property is spacious, with the room units spread out for privacy and comfort. The total capacity is 26 beds and 12 units. In the main lodge, there are three ocean beachfront units and three ocean-view units all with two queen beds, full bath, and patios with good beach views. There is also a three-bedroom apartment that can accommodate six guests. It features two floors, two bathrooms, a living room, kitchenette, and a 360-degree porch There are two smaller rooms with twin beds below the apartment with beautiful garden-beach views. The property also features a standalone building with three separate bedrooms, each with a full bath and a large porch overlooking the beach, plus access to a large kitchen.
The lodge amenities include complimentary continental breakfast, free Wi-Fi, kayaks, bicycles, and snorkel sets for use by the guests. The standalone full-service restaurant and bar, the "Reef Side Restaurant,” caters to the food and dining needs of all guests.
Laundry services are available if needed, and transportation services for the guests are covered by the lodge.

Andros is known as the "Bonefish Capital of The World” because of the large schools of bonefish and the large sizes not found in other competing bonefish areas. Other species found include tarpon, permit, crevalle jack, snook, and barracuda. There is also spearfishing, reef, and deep-blue fishing, where you will find snapper, redfish, grouper, and other species.
Typically, anglers book fishing packages from three to ten or more days. There is a small fly shop with gear available for fly fishing and other fishing. We recommend that anglers confer with their on-shore fly shop to be suited for their trip.
The lodge has a fantastic proximity between the Middle and South Bights of Andros. The many inlets and waterways are perfect for flats fishing. In addition, the distance to the famous Westside is the shortest in Mangrove Cay and, unlike north or south Andros, there is no need for lengthy trailering. Our guests take a five-minute ride to the docks and are on fish right away.
What makes this trip so special is the beautiful aquamarine environment with its scenic and gorgeous water. The surroundings are complemented by professional and talented guides, who ensure their guests come back to the lodge happy and fulfilled after sighting and catching fish all day, along with building a great relationship with their guide.
The lodge offers over four booking periods, free Jumper tickets for flights from Nassau to Mangrove Cay and return. With a four night’s stay, you can get one free ticket per room up to 10 rooms and with a seven night's stay, two free tickets per room up to 10 rooms, which is a good deal for individuals and groups. A $250 credit per room is also offered with travel through Fort Lauderdale direct to Mangrove Cay or Congo town and return with Makers Air or Tropic Ocean Airways. What is the recommended time to arrive in Nassau to catch the jumper flights?
The recommended time would be to arrive before 12:30 PM to catch the 2 PM and 3 PM regular jumper flights. For guests coming in from the mid- and western USA, normally one would have to stay over in Nassau or Florida. There are jumper flights into Mangrove Cay at 6:30 AM in the morning for those staying over in Nassau. One can still fish on arrival and get on the flats before 8 AM.
Are there Covid-19 restrictions?
All Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted.
Are passports required?
Passports are required for all visitors into and out of The Bahamas.
Can US currency be used?
US currency can be used freely in The Bahamas with a $1 to $1 exchange rate with the Bahamian dollar.
