MEN’S BARBOUR ICONS URSULA ORVIS EXCLUSIVE
In 1937, Captain George Phillips took command of the HMS Ursula submarine. Unsatisfied with the standard-issue Royal Navy oilskin uniform for submariners, Capt. Phillips commissioned and paid for Barbour two-piece suits for the whole HMS Ursula crew. These then became standard issue for those keeping watch in Royal Navy submarines (the “Silent Service”). The iconic, heavy-duty, heavyweight 8-oz. cotton jacket updates the archive design with a contemporary slim fit, while retaining the original military styling. Fixed hood, leather collar buckle. Lined in classic Barbour tartan.

“I am so proud to be celebrating the company’s 125th anniversary in 2019. It gives me enormous pride to see how the brand has grown from its small beginnings selling oilskins to the mariners in South Shields to the global lifestyle company we are today. To reach our 125th anniversary is testament to all of our loyal customers who have supported us over the years and to our employees, past and present who have contributed to our success. My daughter Helen and I look forward to celebrating with our customers and employees during 2019 and to making this a very special year.”
